The Model 1905 Schmidt-Rubin Carbine was designed to replace the Mannlicher in service, and most of these carbines were destroyed during drills making surviving examples extremely rare today. They were rather unpopular because Swiss troopers had trouble with reassembling the bolts after cleaning.
